Abstract: This paper uses a dual-polarized antenna array and multi-channel front-end, along with calibration parameters previously measured of each, in a live-sky multipath environment to show polarization and spatial observability of multipath. The multipath environment consists of positive elevation angle multipath, from a conductive surface. Polarization observability is shown by tracking a received signal coherently using both a right-hand circularly polarized (RHCP) and left-hand circularly polarized (LHCP) receiver channel. Spatial observability is shown by implementing a deterministic beamformer receiver channel. The results presented show that the polarization and spatial domains can be used simultaneously to mitigate multipath.
