Abstract: | This paper proposes a novel special non-uniform sampling technique and recovery algorithm suitable for Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) featured systems such as Global Positioning System (GPS). The special non-uniform sampling has been obtained by modelling the GPS L1 signal for time-domain sampling. Using this model we also propose a Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) based recovery algorithm for the specially sampled GPS data. The usage of the special non-uniform sampling and recovery algorithm shows the number of samples needed to undertake frequency domain acquisition successfully can be reduced by 20 times in comparison to the conventional uniform sampling, with very little overall difference in results. |
