Abstract: | This paper discusses a planned update of the Military (M) Code GPS signals to be implemented on the block IIRM and IIF GPS satellites. In particular, the paper described the concept of Time Division Data Multiplexing (TDDM) of the M-code signal. This is followed by carrier aided code tracking system block diagram along with performance based on simulation studies. The work describes the performance of the original M-code as compared to the new TDDM M-code. A data demodulation block diagram for the TDDM system is also presented, along with simulated performance. Finally, code acquisition performance is compared with and without TDDM. Conclusions are then presented based on the original M-code and the new TDDM M-code signal. |
