Abstract: | The optimization of the modulation for open service (OS) signal located at L1 band in the working of global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signals design has some particularity, since this signal has huge amount of potential users and very wide application fields. For different application requirements, the expectations for performance and complexity are difference. A competitive OS signal design recommends the evaluation of signal performances under multiple typical receiving modes. In this paper a set of signal performance evaluation methods for generic mismatch processing mode is presented. On this basis, some reference modulations for Compass B1-C signal are proposed, and within which, an optimal reference modulation is given based upon the comprehensive performance. Compared with existing interoperable signals, the proposal has superiorities in demodulation and tracking, as well as in the flexibility. |
