Abstract: | Distance measurement method based on a Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) is commonly applied in the range-based positioning field. This paper presents two approaches which are weighted centroid localization and Bayesian-based location. By analyzing the existing radio frequency technology for the distance measurement, the paper presented a new weighted centroid localization algorithm. As for the distribution of nodes in a specific environment for indoor positioning, it considers the Beacon nodes with the different influence of the target nodes to determine different weighting factors. Bayesian-based location is a representative of the fingerprinting method. By analyzing the Signal statistical characteristic, Gaussian probability distribution is used for sampling point. Both approaches are implemented at ZigBee platform with the accuracy of meters in a short distance. |
