Abstract: | For years, a predominantly segment-focused approach to GPS test has supported developing and sustaining the system. However, achieving future capabilities while sustaining Backward Compatibility with the existing system presents significant new challenges for system testers. Further, recent Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) policy demands a more comprehensive and integrated test strategy. The IST panel explores GPSW’s solution to these challenges— implementing an end-to-end, Integrated Developmental Test/Operational Test and multiservice approach to the current and “Generation 3” test program. |
