Abstract: | This paper presents the experimentation results related to navigation algorithms functionality and performance, obtained during the last two years of the Galileo System Test Bed (GSTB-V2) project, as a preliminary step for the next development phases of the Galileo System (IOV (In Orbit Validation) and FOC (Full Operational Capability)). More precisely, the paper focuses on results obtained processing data from the two Galileo In-Orbit Validation Elements (GIOVE-A and GIOVE-B) which are currently in orbit. This paper introduces briefly the Experimental Orbit Determination and Time Synchronisation Processing Facility (E-OSPF) and its experimentation setup deployed for the GIOVE Mission. Later on, the following results will be presented: • GIOVE satellites 1-day orbital errors, both for prediction and overlap between consecutive arcs. • GIOVE satellites 1-day clock errors, both for prediction and overlap between consecutive arcs. • Results on the GIOVE satellites clocks characterisation. • GPS to Galileo Time Offset (GGTO) calculation (difference between the GPS and Galileo system times). • GIOVE satellites orbit Solar Radiation Parameters (SRP) estimation behaviour. • Galileo Experimental Sensor Stations (GESS) Inter-System Bias (ISB) stability. Note that the presented results were obtained by an offline E-OSPF processing of the GIOVE-M data. With specific configuration tailored to experimentation on navigation algorithms. A routine E-OSPF process runs hourly at the GIOVE Processing Centre (GPC) at ESA/ESTEC (Noordwijk) with specific configuration tailored to the generation of GIOVE Navigation Messages, but none of the presented results were obtained from the routine EOSPF process. |
