Introducing the LV100 Series GPS Compass from Hemisphere GPS

Abstract:	Hemisphere GPS continues to build on a successful history of GPS heading products with its latest generation, the LV100 Series GPS Compass. This innovative OneBoard™ product design provides a patented single-assembly solution for OEM integrators, and also addresses niche marketing opportunities for users. In heading applications, where cost is an important factor, hydrographic survey-grade heading solutions are often not financially viable. The LV100 offers simple design and installation, which is showcased here in an interesting adaptation. One user has selected the LV100 platform, with its sub-meter DGPS positioning and better than 0.75 degree heading accuracy, for integration with a marine navigation system. It is used to maintain constant heading and position, eliminating the need for setting two anchors. The complete system provides the performance of a GPS compass to a market where, surprisingly, price is still a consideration.
