Abstract: | In this paper a statistical characterization of the satelliteto- indoor channel for satellite navigation purposes is given. The work is based of an ad hoc field campaign deployed in two different sites in Germany and has as main reference the Saleh-Valenzuela model. This model is first described in his details and then his adaptation to the satellite-to-indoor channel is presented. The field campaign, the data processing and the model’s parameters extraction process are described in the central part of the paper. The model parameters have been extracted for different sub-scenarios characterized by different position of the transmitting satellite and described by various angles of elevation and azimuth. The differences that occur in the characterization of the channel between the sub-scenarios are observed and described. In the last part of the paper a comparison of the obtained results will be performed by extracting the model’s parameters also in a second different building and observing the relations between the model parameters of the two buildings. |
