Cost Effective & Innovative Approach to Recover from Data Corruptions Due to Radiation Effects in GPS Receivers in Leo-Orbits

Abstract: A complete Autonomous positioning system for the satellite in the LEO orbit has been developed. The system is capable of independent operation effectively handling the on-orbit anomalies without the ground intervention. This is achieved using the strategic hardware and software watchdog timers to continuously monitor receiver health and the output parameters. Automatic error recovery mechanism sequence is initiated whenever an anomaly is detected and the system keeps track of all the anomaly conditions. This can be downloaded later for the system analysis
