Abstract: | Direct Position Estimation (DPE) was seen to provide appealing features in terms of multipath mitigation and weak signal environments. However, the main potential of such an approach is fully exploited when accounting for prior information. As the DPE framework is based on estimating directly motion parameters from the sampled signal, the inclusion of side information to the overall problem can be properly managed. This paper extends DPE concept to its Bayesian counterpart, referred to as Bayesian DPE. A number of possible state-spaces are given and simulation results show the feasibility of such approach. In particular, a Bootstrap Filter algorithm has been used, though a plethora of alternatives exist. |
