Abstract: | In some space-based augmentation systems (SBAS), the uplink signal carrier frequency is K-band. The uplink Kband frequency is converted into L1 downlink and Kband downlink signals. L1 signal power is not affected by rain. However, rain causes significant attenuation to Kband signals. The objective of uplink power control is to compensate for the uplink power loss due to rain attenuation and uplink interference without maximizing uplink EIRP (Effective Isotropic Radiated Power). This paper shows the concept of uplink power control and interference detection and includes both simulation and laboratory test results. |
