Abstract: Given today positive trend in wireless technology and in interest for seamless outdoor-indoor civil and emergency applications, engineers face the challenge of exploiting the most from wireless technology in order to cover as many applicative domains as possible. In this context the main design key drivers for applications are accurate indoor navigation. In this paper the most promising technologies and techniques are analyzed and an architecture for indoor wireless location-based application is proposed.
