UERE Budget Characterization During the Galileo IOV Test Campaign

Abstract:	The Galileo IOV Phase is an intermediate step of the Galileo system deployment. The UERE Test Scenario is the final Galileo IOV Test Campaign Activity (being the Test Campaign conceived in a staggered approach aiming to verify the single System Performance contribution up to UERE one) as UERE is the main contributor to User Service Performance in terms of Positioning and Velocity Accuracy at user level. For the UERE Budget Characterization during the Galileo IOV Test Campaign, Thales Alenia Space Italy, as System Integration &Verification (SI&V) Prime, has foreseen and specified an ad-hoc facility, UMF (UERE Monitoring Facility), as part of the GALSEE (GALileo System Evaluation Equipment) platform, including all equipments (HW/SW) necessary to allow separation of error budget contributions. The paper will provide an overview of the IOV Test Campaign activity relevant to UERE Test Scenario and Performance Verification, with special reference to the data post-processing that has been defined in order to carry out such test activity. Moreover an overview of the GALSEE UMF Facility, as specified by SI&V Prime, will be provided. Finally, as part of the preparatory activities carried out at TAS-I premises by means of NavCom Lab set up and experimentation, the first results of UERE data postprocessing, as obtained by UERE Budget Characterization Tool (UERE BCT) analyzing GPS Signal-In-Space as acquired by Septentrio receiver part of NavCom Lab, will be presented, including the comparison with the GPS UERE specification as found in literature and with GPS SPS Performance Analysis Report [2] results as provided by Hughes Technical Center for the same period, in order to get a “proof a concept” of proposed data analysis.
