BayNavTech - Performance Assessment Facility for GNSS

Johann Vilzmann, Michael Kirchner, Christof Schäfer

Abstract: This paper introduces the BayPAF - a performance assessment facility for operators and providers of GNSS related services and data. The main mission is to offer an independent assessment and verification environment for GNSS as well as serving the professional user community with specific products. BayPAF is a platform of independent components which are centrally controlled. The standard components include Data Simulation, Data Processing, Analysis, Signal-in-Space Accuracy computation and Local Augmentation and Integrity computation. Within the paper emphasis is put on three topics: (1) A detailed insight in the objective, architecture and components of BayPAF is given. (2) The module of GNSS data processing for parameter estimation is described in detail together with the available standard processing chains generating different types of products. (3) The concept and some results of the verification activities are presented especially from the Galileo point of view.
