Abstract: | This paper presents the phase ambiguity resolution method based on linear modeling of the DD carrier phases. In this method, the time series of residual DD carrier phase is modeled as a linear function of time. This additional constraint improves the condition number of coefficient matrix and suppresses the noises of observation vector. Then the float solution of phase ambiguities is estimated accurately compared to the conventional approach. These improvements result in increase in the success rates of determining the correct DD phase ambiguities. Another advantage of this method is the decrease in computation time. This algorithm is implemented in the dense displacement monitoring system that is a system for detecting deformations of huge civil structures. Using the prototype of dense displacement monitoring system, we conduct three experiments and measure L1 carrier phases for 24 hours in each experiment. In the experiments, the antenna deployments are changed to obtain data with different multi-path noises. These observed data are analyzed by using both the present and the conventional method and the success rates are estimated and compared. As the results, it is shown that the present method gives higher success rates than the conventional method in case of short data length. For example, in the experiment which two patch antennas are directly fixed on the concrete floor, the success rate of present method is improved to 98.3 percent when the data length is 60 seconds while the success rate of the conventional method is 94.8 percent. In this paper, we describe the details of phase ambiguity resolution method based on linear modeling of DD carrier phases and report the results of performance evaluation of the present method. |
