Abstract: | This paper will review the evolution of GPS management with emphasis on recent issues that highlight the potential need for alternative managerial and organizational approaches that may be appropriate during the first quarter of the 21 st Century. Several possible managerial models will be presented with an emphasis placed on providing comprehensive Global Positioning and Timing Services (GPtS) to civil and military users. The potential responsibilities of the various alternative management structures will be discussed, as will the potential for a new management structure to evolve from the current IGEB and its Executive Secretariat. |
