Abstract: | To remove the non-linearity and temperature dependency of the Low-Cost Fiber-Optics Gyroscope (FOG), a new calibrating method is advanced which combines bias and scale factor together. The basic model describes the relationship among the input rotation rate, the output voltage and internal temperature. With the experiments at different temperature and dynamics, a new model is developed with stepwise linear regression. After applying compensation for the FOG, the testing results show that the performance has been improved by an order. The error is within ±0.02 °/s for the temperature range (-30 °C to 45 °C) with operating range of ±60 °/s. |
