Abstract: “Ship’s Augmented Gravity Enhancement (SAGE)” has the potential to vastly increase the capacity to collect and process large volumes of high quality at-sea gravity data, at a low cost, by extracting gravity data anomalies from already installed advanced inertial navigator WSN-7 systems. The WSN-7 is a Ring Laser based system with dual-axis indexing used to achieve high accuracy. Using SAGE the entire fleet of WSN-7 equipped platforms, comprising about 130 surface ships and 61 submarines, would become a world-wide surveying resource.
