GPS Ground Control Network Modernization

Robert M. Harker, Zonda K. Nelson Jr.

Abstract: The global community relies heavily on the presence of Global Positioning System (GPS) for many critical applications. The GPS ground control network has been a relatively static environment since its primary development period in the mid-1980s. However, this has left the GPS ground system, with heavy commercial and military reliance, in a functionally outdated and increasingly difficult to maintain status.
