Experimental Characterization of Land-Reflected GPS Signals

Stephan Esterhuizen, Dallas Masters, Dennis Akos and Eric Vinande

Abstract: This paper describes a new experiment and receiver system used to collect sampled C/A reflected signals from various terrain types and characterize the key features as a function of the reflecting surface. The sampled data were post-processed in a software receiver [1] to expose the signal characteristics and how they correlate with terrain type.
