Abstract: | "This paper analyzes, through simulations and experiments, GPS interference mitigation performance against narrowband and pseudolite interferences using adaptive spatial beamforming techniques. The performance of the GPS is known to be susceptible to interferences. Among all interference mitigation techniques, the adaptive antenna array approach is known to be one the most effective as it is capable of creating a null along the direction of the interferer or selectively enhancing the signal quality along the direction of the desired signal source. In the paper, the use of adaptive antenna array in GPS interference mitigation is assessed by means of algorithm development, simulation analysis, and experimental test. In particular, pseudolite-type interferences are considered. A pseudolite-type interference resembles a GPS signal and may affect the signal reception and navigation computation. In the paper, it is shown that against continuous-wave interference and pseudolite-type interferences, a 2 2 _ array through adaptive processing is capable of tolerating up to 30 dB interference-to-signal ratio.
