Abstract: | "The Maximum Likelihood Estimator (MLE) is most often used to estimate the signal time delay in a multipath environment. There are various implementations of the MLE which can be divided into the time domain algorithms and the frequency domain algorithms. In this paper, the current time and frequency domain schemes are compared and analyzed in least square sense. Also novel solutions in both domains are developed to resolve the close-in multipath signals. They are tested by the Monte Carlo simulation and their performances are compared to the Cramer-Rao bound on the Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) signal." |
