Abstract: The Gravity Probe B spacecraft was successfully launched at 9:57:24 PDT on April 20, 2004. A pair of Trimble TANS Vector III receivers installed on the vehicle have provided precision position, velocity, and time measurements of the Gravity Probe B satellite. This paper will discuss the purpose of the Global Positioning System subsystem on the Gravity Probe B vehicle, software and hardware modifications to the original GPS equipment, environmental testing completed prior to launch as well as the results of that testing, and conclude with preliminary on-orbit results.
