Improvement of Error with GPS Standard Positioning Service

Abstract: At present, we can measure within several centimeters by high performance GPS. But it spends a lot of many on the system. We took up cheaper, easier method SPS. We can get much information from SPS receiver, such as pseudo range, the position of satellites, the correction term of satellites clock, that of ionosphere delay and that of troposphere delay, and so on. There are several reports to improve SPS measurement. But previous methods are required many parameters [1]-[5]. We propose the error reducing method using only satellites information for improvement of SPS measurement. An actually measured distance with GPS includes various errors. The distance with error is called 'pseudo range'. The closer the measured distance is to an actual distance, the more exact positioning becomes. We thought whether we could use the data obtained from the difference between a measured distance and a true distance as compensation factor in other place. Although the positioning with SPS becomes closer to the true position by our method, the compensated position is not necessarily enough for practical use, especially for high accurate positioning. Pseudo range error does not change so largely according to time and place from the whole view of result. We thought the factor of insufficient compensation depends on detail of pseudo range error in time and place. Although the result of positioning by our method is not enough for practical use such as high accurate application yet, the SPS accuracy will be improved the further step of our method. We require the investigation of pseudo range error due to time and place for high accurate positioning with SPS. Our further research is that we make experiment of positioning using more precise compensation.
