Abstract: | The 746th Test Squadron (746 TS) at Holloman AFB has combined four proven technologies to create a unique Embedded Global Positioning System /Inertial Navigation System (GPS/INS) (EGI) navigation system test capability. The Computer Applications Software Technology (CAST) EGI tester makes up the inertial portion by producing proper delta-v's and delta-theta's for several of the Litton and Honeywell EGI systems. A Spirent 4760 differential simulator provides the GPS portion of the hybrid EGI package. This equipment combination is integrated and controlled by the 746 TS Navigation Test and Evaluation Laboratory (NavTEL) real-time controller, which also adds additional 1553 options and jamming functionality. The 746 TS data collection system generates all the missionized test-items and logs data. The resulting hybrid gives us full dynamic capability, differential GPS capability, Y code, complex jamming ability, and considerable real-time control and scenario visualization. These features are in a combination that exceeds any currently available stand-alone product. |
