Certification Impact of Introducing GPS into Commercial Transport Navigation Systems

Abstract: Introduction of GPS as another navigation sensor into the radio navigation family can improve the performance of Omega/VLF based systems. This paper addresses the airworthiness certification and operational approval process to accomplish this potential improvement on a worldwide basis.
