Abstract: | While there are a few cases which have discussed navigational equipment in the aviation con% these 9 with only a few exceptido not discuss the specific navigational equipment in terms of products liability.’ Rather, the case law indirectly refers to navigational equipment in addressing actions by the users or receivers who rely on such information against these who provide and interpret the information. Somewhat surprisingly, although the reported cases discuss navigational issues in terms of negligence, the case law provides little discussion of actions against the manufacturers of navigational equipment for products liability under theories of negligence, strict liability, orwarranty. H-r, in the navigation context, a basic conception of these legal principles does lay a foundation for understanding the general law of aviation products liability, as well as provide a framework for discussing recent developments and future directions in navigation law. |
