Abstract: | The liability of air carriers for personal injury or wrongful death occurring as the result of international aviation accidents is, in many circumstances, governed by the provisions of the Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules Relating to International Transportation by Air,i Oct. 12, 1929, 49 Stat, 3000, T.S.876 (1934), reprinted in a note following 49 U.S.C. App. 5 1502 (Warsaw Convention). The Warsaw Convention, a product of international conferences held in Paris (1925) and Warsaw (1929), was designed to: 1) establish uniform rules for resolving certain disputes arising from "international transportation"; and 2) limit the liability of air carriers resulting from aviation accidents involving international flights. |
