Abstract: | The development programme of radiodetermination (including radionavigation) services at Inmarsat falls under two main categories. First, service which may be implemented in the near future using existing (or about to be activated) space segment. Second, services which would be based on the in-orbit availability of the “navigation payload” option to be carried on the next generation of Inmarsat satellites. Activities within these two main categories am currently divided into five program areas. These program areas am Position Reporting, Diffetential Cortections, the GPSKXGNASS Integrity Channel, the Geostationary Navigation Overlay and the PN-Transmission Test Program. This paper presents an overview of these activities. |
