Abstract: This paper describes the method used to locate and dispatch med-evac helicopters to the scene of an emergency, when a patient is seriously injured or ill. The Patient must be delivered to the nearest appro- priate hospital within the famous “Golden Hour” to assure maximum ability For survival The paper further de8cribe8 the equipment necessary to locate the nearest heIicopter, and the methoda used to continue tracking the aircraft until the patient is hospitalized, and has safely returned to its helipad A discussion is ako provided concerning the u8e of LORAN C and GPS methods of providing location coordinates.
