Abstract: | ULISS NG inaugurates a new generation in the ULISS family of INS aiready fifed in many different aircrafts. It demonstrates an embedded GPS option and is an interesting example of INSiGPS synergy and performanceicost .trade-off. Its miniaturized P(Y) code duai frequency GPS receiver totals 0.7 I, 0.7 kg, 12W. The P(Y) LX.? GPS receiver is the most sophisticated version of a ccmplete embedded GPS receiver family. Because of a modular approacn in the design, P(Y) Ll, C/A PPS, C:A SPS versions can be easily derived from the P(Y) Ll/K. In addition to the physical integration of a GPS receiver in the INS unit, other new features have been implemented such as tight inertia-GPS coupling in order to improve operational caoabilities, performance and solution stability with respect i0 a loose coupling. Flight tests of the ULISS NG and its integrated P(Y) GPS receiver are starting on a Mirage Ill at the French Official Test Center of Sretigny. |
