Abstract: | GPS provides a source of coordinate information which can be applied to the collection of feature information for the creation, updating, and validation of thematic map layers for use in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Often the cost of data acquisition can be greatly reduced as the time requirement is reduced. A practical system, GeoLink, has been developed for this type of data colleo tion, and proven reliable and cost effective. |
