Disciplined Rubidium Oscillator with GPS Selective Availability

Wayne P. Dewey

Abstract: A U.S. Department of Defense de&ion for the continuous implementation of GPS Selective Availabilii (S/A), has made it difficult to utiliie GPS In disciplining high stabilii oscillators to accefMM lev8ls. A method for minimizing S/A effects on the osc&tcr disciplining process has been developed. This method achieves disciplining results approachiig pre-S/A GPS. Thii paper descrii the Sat8llite Hopping a@orkhm used in minimizing the effects of SIA on the oscillator disciplining process, and compares the results of using this process to the results obtained prior to the implementation of S/A. The experi- mental resutts obtained are from a Rubidium based GPS-DC timing receiver.
