Abstract: | The paper describes the last development of SDCTANT Avionique for a miniaturized PPS GPS receiver designed for dynamic missions. The applications forseen on fighter aircraft, missiles and other high dynamic vehicules operating under severe environmental conditions are briefly commented. The paper then presents the technical major choices which have been done to solve the performance over dimension and cost equation (numerical signal processing, single pr- architecture, “ASIC” technology...) and emphasizes the characteristics of the miniaturized PPS P(Y) CORE designed on a single board (S‘x7”). A description of the modular architecture of SEXTANT’s GPS sensor family “TOPSTAR” is given. The test results of flights performed on a MIRAGE 3 at BREllGNY flight test Center in France are presented with particular analysii of the performance during dynamic phases of the flight. The conclusion summarizes the figures of performance and the most significant parameters which charaterize this new receiver. |
