Abstract: Detemmdon of vehicle heading in ml-time using two GPSreceiversmountedonthevehicleroofisinve&@ted using Magnavox GPS l3@neP. The main error sources liiingthea&ievableauxacy~carrierphasenoiseand multipath. A series of controlled low kinematic tests were ptxformedtoassessthemagnitu&oftbeseerrasandresults are given. A third compamt of maintainmg accumte heading is the de&m&&o of & phase ambiguities ‘oa~fly’.IaorQertoassistintheestimati~ofinteger ambiguities, the GF’S receivers 8ce integrated to several dead-&o&g senscns including a compass, rate gyros, odometer and altimeter. Using the wximate heading from the dead-doning system, the mteger tzanier phase ambiguities can ba edmated virtually instantaueously in real-time. Tests demonstr&ng the achievable accumcy of the intern system we desaiibed and results are dis- cussed.
