Integration of a Fibre Optical Gyro Attitude and Heading Reference System with Differential GPS

Manfred Baumker, Andreas Mattissek

Abstract: In 1992 LITEF commenced with the development of the LCR-94, an integrated DGPS/AHRS system for avionic applications. The system shall be capable of delivering all signals required by the ARINC standards 705 (AHRS) and 704 (IRS). In addition, it will provide navigation data for automated landing as needed for CAT I precision approaches. In parallel to the ongoing development process GPS data was registered and analyzed in order to predict system performance. This analysis confirmed that CAT I accuracy requirements can be met even during GPS satellite outages.
