RNP Tunnel Concept for Precision Approach with GNSS Application

Abstract: A methodology to determine the Required Navigation Performance (RNP) for the tunnelconcept is described. Operationally it is applicable to all phases of flight. Each phase of flight has a tunnel through which the aircraft will successfully traverse if the aircraft and its navigation system satisfy the RNP associated with that phase of flight. The tunnel RNP for the precision approach phase of flight is determined using GNSS as the naviga- tion system.
