GPS Receiver Requirements for Tactical Semi-Ballistic Missile Systems

Don Pittman, Chris Roberts

Abstract: The Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver industry has just recently begun to address the application of GPS on tactical semi-ballistic missiles. The receivers managed by the GPS Joint Program Office (JPO) were designed and developed for cruise missiles, aircraft, ships and ground vehicles. Unlike these previously addressed applications, tactical semi-ballistic missiles are highly dynamic, have short mission times, and can not adjust missile attitude profiles to accommodate GPS.
