Abstract: | Global Positioning System (GPS) can disseminate time and time interval with accuracies of around 10 nanosec- onds, and establish frequency control with accuracies of a few parts in lE-12. Unfortunately, since 1 July 1991 GPS operational satellites have been switched to the selective availability (SA) technique that makes unauthorized users can not acquire high accuracies of real-time positioning and timing. In or&r to mitigate the effect of SA technique on GPS time transfer and frequency control this paper discusses the following subjects: main influence of SA technique; judgement by surveying data gathered in China in 1990 to 1992 on SA technique; effective method for precise time transfer and frequency control. |
