Abstract: | The presentation is organized in 3 chapters: The first one presents the differential GPS principles applicable to airborne navigation for the different phases of the flight (en-route, approach and landing) and summa- rizes the main requirements. Emphasis is given to the specific requirements for differential processing during dynamic applications. The principle of deltarange rate differential correction is commented and test results ob- tained with SEXTANT Aviomque receivers arepresented. The second chapter presents the P-RNAV (precision RNAV airborne navigation computer) equipment speci- fied for the navigation on the future European precision routes. The navigation functions of this equipment are detailed and an architecture of the avionic system using PRNAV and DGPS is presented. The third chapter and conclusion summarizes the new 3 dimensional navigation capabilities and potential perfor- mances which could be developed in combining PFWAV and DGPS techniques for accurate navigation form take- off to landing. |
