Abstract: | The ALTAIR AV-12 is an airborne GPS re- ceiver/navigator featuring a fully integrated high resolution color moving map display with common NOAA symbology. The receiver features a split screen mode where the CRT simultaneously displays the moving map along with navigation information such as XTE, course, speed, distance to go and ETE. Other displays include comprehensive NAVAID, airport and communications frequency. Naviga- tion information is provided either graphically or via text. It calculates and displays course over ground, speed over ground, range, bearing, estimated time of arrival and course deviation. Up to 100 flightplans and 1,000 user-defined waypoints can be stored. The front loading Jeppesen NavData card provides information on all airports, NAVAID, frequencies, and elevations. It also features Airspace Warning Flags such as TCA, ARSA, MOA and SUA. Other standard features include Satellite Status/RAIM, course deviation indicator and offset range and bearing from reference waypoint. An optional PC interface capability is available for creation/edit of flight plans, user waypoints and receiver settings. The ALTAIR AV-12 is a panel-mount dedicated 12 channel GPS receiver with one second update rate and a low-drag, high-precision GPS antenna for high accuracy 3-D positioning. Differential GPS is available as an option. |
