GPS L-Based Test Receiver, The Golden Standard

Anthony B. Ploski and John A. Rajan

Abstract: ITT Aerospace/Communications Division (A/CD) has designed, built and delivered a special L-band GPS receiver as part of the Payload Ground Support Equipment (PGSE) for the GPS Block IIR satellites. This L-band receiver will be used for the measurement of RF and modulation signal parameters for each of the L-band frequencies transmitted by the GPS satellite vehicle. This paper describes the overall architecture of the receiver, its major functional parts, and the performance levels achieved.
