Abstract: | Data from Global Positioning System (GPS) measure- mentsofaglobal trackinggeodeticnetworkandaregional geodetic network in the Caucasus mountain region, en- compassing the independent states of Georgia, Armenia and Russian Federation of South West Asia, have been used to investigate the accuracy, reliability and repeatabil- ity of single day and multi-day solutions. Assessment of network accuracy involves certain statisti- cal testing of the observations using a prior model to test for the normal distribution of the data as well as a method of detection for outliers. Testing the estimated parameters and estimated covariance information provides insight to the behavior of both the observations and mathematical model. Complementary to the statistical testing approach are measures of Internal Reliability, used to quantify the size of the minimally detectable error (MDE) that the adjustment can disclose, and External Reliability, which is a measure of the effect an MDE has on the estimated parameters. The analysis was performed in the post adjustment state of each single day phase solution and again at the multi-day combination of adjustments and covariance matrices so- lution stage (3). Implementation was accomplished using a parametric least squares adjustment applied to the coor- dinate difference results from the previous solutions. This method will focus on the sensitivity of coordinate differ- ence reliability analysis to detect any remaining cycle slips which were undetected in the previous adjustments, as well as network design and the ability of the network to protect against errors. Technical information provided in this paper will include GPS network results from single day solutions and full campaign (multi-day) solutions along with reliabilityanaly- sis for each solution. *GPS data analysis accomplished using the GAMIT and GLOBK software developed at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. |
