A State of the Art Differential GPS Simulation Test Bed

Maurice Bard, Richard Carter, and Arnold Read

Abstract: This paper describes Ihc NT DGPS Simulator and illustrates how such an equipmenr cm be used to investigate the effectiveness of a DGPS Receiver equipment to corrccr for a variety of errors. Results ‘are included for spatial decorrelation of Atmospheric, Orbital and Intentional Clock Noise errors. The simulator’s excellent carrier phase conrrol was also exploited to ex‘amine effects of multipath signals at the monitor station. Finally results ‘are presented for a precision approach and Ianding scenario with and without DGPS corrections which illustrates the ability of DGPS to reduce GPS system errors lo an acceptable level.
