Abstract: | This paper presents a method for determining the optimal update period and correction resolutions for both Local- area Differential GPS (LDGPS) pseudorange and Wide-area Differential GPS (WDGPS) clock corrections when the data rate of the broadcast channel is constrained. Additionally, results of a performance evaluation are used to suggest that a method in which DGPS users generate their own range rate corrections may be more desirable than the more prevalent method of providing range rate corrections in the DGPS message. |
