Extending the Generality and Robustness of RAIM Algorithms

Edward M. Copps and Lawerence O. Lupash

Abstract: In the last several years special attention has been directed toward finding effective Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring @AIM) techniques for the Global Positioning System (GPS) [l] - [6]. This paper extends the generality, robustness and efficiency of the most popular R4IM algorithms. New techniques for updating the factorized forms used in the RAIM algorithms are presented; these techniques can substantially reduce the computational effort when there are rank-one changes or appending/removing rows in the measurement matrix. Such numerical techniques are applicable in both detection and isolation/exclusion parts of the RAIM algorithm.
