CNS/ATM in China: Developing a Path to the Future

Qiu Zhihe, John Estill and Steven Hammond

Abstract: Rockwell and its Chinese partners are preparing a CNS/ATM concept demonstration to help in the introduction of Satellite Based Air Trtic Management in China. The demonstration and associated analyses will provide the Chinese people with information and concepts needed to design the future Chinese Satellite Based Air Traffic Management (SBATM) system in China. This paper describes how the Chinese-Rockwell team is accounting for increasing capacity requirements, and the integration of current, radar based ground and aircraft systems with the new CNS/ATM system.
