Abstract: | Traditional GPS based positiondeterminatbn methods have significant shortcomings when applied to the dense urban environment of IVHS applications. An alternative method employing Commercial FM Broadcasting Stations in conjunction with a differential reference station is described. The propagation issues associated with ground based signals at 100 MHz are reviewed. Test data is presented. Comparison with traditional GPS operation is made. |
