Integrated Bridge Systems: Expectations, Facts, and Foibles

Abstract: The age of Integrated Navigation Systems incorporating Electronic Charting has arrived. It is common for a fast growing technology and marketplace to spawn a sea of confusion among potential users. Such is the case with Integrated Charting and Navigation Systems (INS). Sev- eral points of confusion are presented with possible solu- tions and some assumed solutions are challenged.
